  • You have spent hours and days imagining what your blog can do for you and for your readers.
  • You are willing to put your heart and soul into your blog.

Hi, this is Charlie Page, and I want to share with you how to make your blog wildly successful.

If you own a blog or you want to own a blog, you want that blog to succeed, to be wildly successful, not just moderately successful.

But what separates the very successful blogs from the ones that never achieve lift off?

I believe there are five things.

Focus on them and your blog can not only take off, but it can be wildly successful.

Factor number one: be the helper.

Our blogs are not about us. They’re about our readers, our visitors, their needs, their problems.

While we can share from our experience, we do that only to guide them to their own success. Notice that word “guide.”

That is what you are.

If you’re a blogger, that is exactly what you are, the helper, not the hero, the guide that shows them how to get from where they are now to where they want to be as quickly and easily as possible.

Do that and your blog can’t help but succeed.

Factor number two: know your audience.

Very important to know your audience.

  • Who is your ideal reader?
  • Are they a man or a woman?
  • Are they closer to 33 or closer to 73?
  • Do they live where you live or do they live somewhere across the globe from you?
  • What keeps them awake at night?

The more you know about your ideal customer, also called your avatar, the better you will do.

It’s a fact that top blogs know exactly who visits and exactly who they want to have visit. They tailor their content and their offers to that person.

?If you do that too, you will do very very well.

Factor number three: the customer journey.

Every customer takes a journey from “I wonder” to “I understand.”

That’s the journey they’re on, from needing information to having information, from wanting to do something to being able to do something.

Your job is to understand that journey.

Once you know who your avatar is, once you know who your ideal reader is, your job is to understand their journey, and help them move along the path of progress until they reach their goal.

Remember, it’s about them. It’s not about you.

They will need you on their journey.

  • They will need content.
  • They will need to buy products.
  • They’ll need help and advice. 

?Supply it, and you will succeed.

Share what you know, and recommend top sources for the rest. You can do that as an affiliate if you like, and that’s a great way to make extra money.

Factor number four: speak to their pain points.

Every piece of content you create should help the reader solve a problem.

Sometimes that means giving them a formula. Sometimes it means sharing insights from experience, but it always means thinking more about their needs than your needs.

?If you make your content about solving the pain they’re feeling, they will respond in greater numbers.

Most people are afraid to share what they really know. Most bloggers are afraid to share what they really know.

They just don’t tell the whole story for free on the their blog, because they believe it will hurt their sales if they’re selling an information product, and that’s not true in most cases.

If you sell information for a living, you need to realize that the free line has been raised, and it’s not going back.

So what do I mean by the free line?

I mean the amount of free information given away before the sale is made, before you ask someone to buy. Not just the amount of information, but the quality of information as well.

Product launches changed the free line long ago by recommending that we produce three or four helpful videos during a product launch before asking for the order.

You’ve seen that done many many times. Blogs raised the free line again by allowing anyone to publish anything they want anytime for almost no cost.

The world is awash in information, so your free information needs to be the best you can provide.

You can’t share everything if you sell information, obviously. I mean, it’s pretty obvious you can’t share everything, right?

But how do you know where to draw the free line?

Here’s how: Choose one problem that you know your prospective customer faces and help them solve it.

One problem, help them solve it completely, and you are providing results in advance.

When they want more, and they will, they’ll buy from you, because you’ve helped them already.

?Reciprocity will be ignited on your behalf.

If you do these five things, your blog will be more popular, it will sell more, and be much more fun for you as well, because you’ll be helping people, and nothing feels better than that.
