MOVED – A great man passes

Today one of my personal heroes passed away.

Although I never met him, Zig Ziglar has had more impact on my life than any other person save my wife and family.

I have read, listened to and watched almost everything Zig produced, and am a better salesman, businessman, husband, father and person for having taken the time to read Zig’s work.

Just recently I wrote about the DBV Time Management method. I learned that from Zig’s tapes and use it every day.

Far more than just teaching selling skills, Zig taught about life. How to live. How to love. How to leave a legacy.

And what a legacy Zig has left!

Because Zig was wise enough to publish, generations to come will be blessed by listening to Zig’s common sense wisdom and practical teachings.

Here is the statement the family sent today, including links to Zig’s Facebook page.

— Begin family statement —

Zig Ziglar passed from this world today after a short bout with pneumonia. Though his time on earth has ended, he is speaking with Jesus now in his heavenly home. The angels in heaven are rejoicing and his family is celebrating a life well lived.

If Zig has impacted your life or you want to leave a message to the family, please leave your remarks on his FaceBook page. Don’t worry about being too specific or long. Take as much space as you want…the family wants to know. Please check back on FaceBook as we will be posting when the memorial service will be held.

I could write about Zig all day, but I won’t do that here. Frankly, I’m fighting tears to write this much.

I was able to leave a comment on Facebook however, and hope you find time to do so as well.

So let me simply say this – if you have not read, watched or listened to Zig before let me strongly encourage you to visit his site right now and get started.

If you are not sure where to start let me suggest Zig’s last book Born to Win. It sums up what Zig taught all his life.

His books should be available on Amazon or at your local bookstore.

I guarantee you this – if you read Zig’s work you will be better off for it.
