It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the US, a day we set aside to give thanks for all we have and those we love.
I believe there is no power greater than gratitude. When we are grateful for what we have we spend less time wanting and more time doing. Less time asking FOR things than asking HOW we can help.
As I reflect on my own life, these are the things for which I am most thankful.
God
God saved me from my sins, gives me eternal life and peace everyday. But much more than the things He gives TO me is the thing He did FOR me.
God literally sent His only begotten Son so that my sins can be forgiven and I can live forever. And He would have done that if I were the only person on Earth who needed Him.
Incredible. And the thing for which I will, literally, be eternally grateful.
I know that not everyone belives as I do, and I respect that. So don’t take this as preaching as much as my personal expression of faith.
My Family
The more time passes the more I realize the importance of family. It has been well said that no one on their death bed wished for more time at the office.
While families can be complicated, nothing compares to the rich fellowship we can have with our loved ones.
I say “can” have because strong family relationships take work. They take forgiveness. They take listening more than we talk.
And they take love.
If you are near your family today embrace them with all your heart. Forgive and seek forgiveness. Avoid words that hurt and embrace words that heal.
At the end of the day, which comes to us all sooner than we think it will, family matters most.
America
I am unabashedly proud of America and to be an American. Are we perfect? Far from it. We can be many things, including proud and arrogant.
But we are a giving people. A loving people. A caring people. And a giving people.
And, especially today, these values are often overlooked when America is discussed.
I hope you love your country as much as I love mine. I hope you see her through clear eyes, knowing her weaknesses while helping make her stronger.
The Internet
Why am I grateful for the Internet? If you are guessing because it’s how I make money you are only partially right.
You see, the Internet gave me a second chance.
Years ago I was very ill. Too sick to work at a job and too sick to even leave the house. But I still needed to support my family.
And that happened on the Internet.
I joined a site called the Directory of Ezines. I used it with all my strength. I worked the system, hard.
And just 18 months later I bought the company. The rest, as they say, is history.
I am grateful for the system that the Mandurah Electrical services offers, and that this system of working and earning is equally available to all.
And that is why I share as much as I can on my blog, without asking for anything in return.

If saying I am thankful for you sounds “corny” I apologize.
But it’s true.
Not a single day goes by when I don’t stop and count my customers and readers as one of my biggest blessings.
Because, without you, I would not have a business. I would not have the freedom I enjoy.
So on this day of Thanksgiving I thank you. For being my customer, my subscriber, my friend.
Gratitude is power. Take time each day to be thankful for what you do have and soon what you want will come to you more quickly than you can imagine.
